I'm cautious about saying it may be on its way since it was July 12, 2012 when Dee Ecker responded to an e-mail telling me that the 9mm version was shipping, but it wasn't until last month that I actually saw one become available online.

Here is the story from Guns & Gear on the .45, they should be available sometime February.

If the 45 rollout goes like the 9mm did, I wouldn't expect too many guns to be produced.

I'll be looking to get my order in asap. I'm loading 45 ACP already and to be able to get a big bore revolver ,without having to purchase more dies, different caliber brass, bullets .powder ect is certainly a big plus in my book. And it's much more affordable than whats out there in 45 auto now.

Is the reason you want the Charter due to smaller size, concealability?

S&W has been making uber accurate, 45ACP / 45AR Wheel guns for almost 100 years.

the "Classic" 3" tapered barrel .44 spl. is supposed to come out this year. it will be interesting to see how much bigger they make a .45acp gun over the .44spl gun.

I like it. It's coming too late for me, but I sure would have bought one five years ago if it were available. But a PM45 fills the same spot for me now. Good for those that like to carry big bore revolvers though and already own a .45ACP.
