.45 ACP "Pocket Pistol"

The closest your going to get is a Taurus Tracker Titanium 5 shooter. I think model 455. Out of production unfortunately. It was one of Taurus' better ideas. They have had a great many better ideas in the last 20 years than S&W.

Another vote for the Kahr PM45. It is comparable in size and weight to a lot of the pocket nines that are coming out. It is not an everyday, drop in your pocket no matter what gun like a little 380.

If you can afford it and find one, the Semmerling LM-4 is a tiny .45 REPEATING pistol.
It's a double action-only pistol that's manually operated by pushing the slide FORWARD to extract and eject the case, then pulled back to chamber a new round.
It's typically operated by using the trigger finger to flick the slide forward and back.

It's currently sold by American Derringer:

To give you an idea of price, it's always been VERY expensive and American Derringer lists it as "Price on request".
If you can afford it, you'll have something few people have.

As above, a possible better option is a Kahr Arms .45 automatic.

I'm not sure American Derringer is still in business, even though the web site is still up. I wouldn't mind having a Semmerling as a backup piece, but not for the $1,100 they used to go for, much less the $4,000+ they're asking for the originals nowadays. Neat gun, though.

Oh, wait,

I was on revolver wavelength. Kahr PM 45 is the way to go.

I carried a Glock-36 for several years. The Kahr PM-45 has the same slide width but is considerably smaller overall. I opted for pocket carry of the Kahr PM-9.

Even more than size, there is functioning to consider. IMO you're asking an awful lot of little magazine springs with big bowling ball cartridges crammed on top of them to push the rounds up in time.

Red Cent, What is that pretty little thing?

I can see it now looking at a 17" screen instead of an ipod......nice!

Have you ever shot a CW45

It has terrible recoil. You can not hardly hold onto the gun. Let alone make another shot. I have shot one and could not stand it. I would not own one. I love the PM9 and the MK9.

I have and pocket carry a PM45 about 6 days a week, it is a pocket full if your not used to it. I wear carpenter style pants with big, deep pockets so it's not bad. I would definitely recommend one, I personally can't wait for the R45..:D:D

Here's my PM45

DeepSouth, you are braver than most, including me as..

I could not even conceive of carrying a fully loaded PM 9 at 24 ounces in my pocket. Nice gun if you can manage it. For me it would be IWB . The Glock 36 is close to that gun in weight too and extremely reliable.

A loaded PM45 is only 3-4oz heavier than a loaded PM9. Not saying it is unnoticeable, but like anything else once you get used to it it is just second nature. It does require deep pockets, it's definitely not for everyone. But I love my 45's so thats what I wanted to carry, and I can't carry at work so to keep from having to unholster in the parking lot, I pocket carry. And like the OP will learn, when you want to pocket carry a 45 you must make some compromises. But like I said once you get used to it, it's not a big deal.

I occasionally carry a Taurus 24/7 DS Pro Compact .45. I have a pocket holster for it and I've carried it that way but it's just a bit bulky for that role so it normally goes IWB in a Supertuck. It's not hard to shoot at all, though. It's only a little snappier than a pocket 9mm and much more comfortable than a Radom P-64 in 9mm Mak.
