I have run into a problem. I was plunk testing my rounds. I had 4 rounds that would not plunk. Its all Winchester brass. My COL is plunking good at 1.255. But these 4 would not go. So I decided I would shorten my COL as a test just to see. I went all way down to like 1.238 and they still wont go. I measured case mouth to be.471 and rim was same. Its only with Winchester brss. Anybody else run into this problem?

Since the loaded rounds' case rim measures .471" and other headstamp cases pass the barrel drop "plunk" test, how about checking to see if just the resized Winchester cases drop in the chamber fully (case only, no bullet)?

If the resized case won't fully chamber, they are not being resized all the way down to the case base.

Only with my Sig 1911, it has a tight chamber and I had to increase crimp to .468 and it plunks
Wow, that's tight ... and I thought my Sig barrel was tight (with almost no leade) as rounds with .472"-.473" taper crimp snuggly but still fully chamber.

And we thought Lone Wolf chambers were tight.

But .468" seems awfully tight. How about factory rounds? Do they drop in the chamber freely? My factory Federal JHP rounds have average .4705" - .4710" taper crimp and drops in the Sig 1911 chamber freely with a "plonk".

Are you sure the chamber is clean?

I misquoted. I just remeasured and found the rounds to be exactly .4695 at the top edge of the crimp.
