Objective: 1000 fps

Sig P227 3.9”
185 grain xtp
Winchester brass
CCI 300 primers
1.23 COAL

Test ladders shot with:
N105, N340, CFE Pistol

Only N105 got to 1000 fps.

Most accurate 1000+ fps load was 12.8 grains N105 - 1066 fps ES 15 SD 6 PF 197

CFE-P 8.0 grains 881 fps ES 57 SD 21 PF 163
N340 8.0 grains 924 fps ES 31 SD 11 PF 170

Looking at some of my loading data, the slower powders are the only ones reaching 1000fps with that light of bullet; N105 is nearing BlueDot/2400 in burn rate, so that validates that. I am kind of surprised you didn't reach 1000fps with CFE-P... Hodgdon's starting data shows 1008fps; granted, they had an extra 1" of barrel.

Both of my .45's are 4" barrels, I've found I really have to redline the load to reach factory velocity with that missing 1" piece of barrel.
