.45 cartridge found in washing machine... CALL THE BOMB SQUAD!!!

I go to college and .45 shell in the bottom of the washing machine is the least of my worries!

I would be much more worried about finding used needles and condoms in the machines. But of course, it wouldn't make the news:barf::banghead::cuss:

Vital information omitted!

Was that washing machine single or double action? Did it have a functional trigger lock?

So, does this mean I have to tumble the lube off my reloads now instead of running it through the wash in the dorms now?:neener::cuss::what:

Anybody know if they carried the cartridge out and blew it up in the normal police/bomb squad fashion???

Two questions here-

1-Since when is a handgun an assault weapon? Even in the military (or LE), a handgun is the last line of defense.
2-It may have been .45 caliber, but what cartridge was it? All assumptions would point to .45 ACP. But it could have been a .45 LC or a Schoefield. There have been very few assault weapons (sub-guns) produced in .45 ACP, but there have been none produced in the other .45 caliber cartridges.

Just more liberal media bullsh**.

I am speechless................OH, here we go, no, wait a minute...........unfrigginbelievable...........Still speechless..............You know, I'm only 37, but when I was in 8th grade, I brought a shotgun to school, on the bus, put it in my locker, took it out at the end of the day, got on a friends bus, got off at his house, went hunting. Teachers, principal, etc all knew, it happened all the time. Have we really digressed this far, this fast? I give up! I quit! It's hopeless. It's all over. If you want to fight for this country, and these idiots, go ahead. Leave me out of it, and stay the hell away from my property.

My guess is that it was in someone's pocket and it found its way through the laundry," said Sgt. Dennett, "but how that came to be is an unanswered question."

What the heck are you talking about Sgt.? Are you saying its questionable how the "bullet" got in someones pocket.

come on

There obviously was no ill intent. Anyone with half a mind could infer that it was merely left in someone's pocket when they washed their clothes and posed no danger. They're all "assault weapons" as it is a meaningless phrase that can be continuously redefined by those who intend to do this nation great harm. This is something everyone needs to keep in mind when the likes of Barrack Obama or Diane Feinstein discuss banning "assault weapons" as "common sense gun laws".

this isn't a washinton d.c. newspaper is it?

45-caliber bullets are used in assault weapons such as handguns

if i didn't already have a sig line, this would be in contention.

More left wing propagandistic lies

leanwolf, i have to disagree. i call it poor journalism. while the original idea to call a pistol an assault weapon may have started as a lefty/anti lie to confuse ignorant people, the journalists unwillingness to check their sources, or even a dictionary, is unprofetional.

WAIT! I'm having a vision!! .45 pistol bullets mysteriously begin appearing in campus washing machines across the country!!! They are found in laundromats near campuses!!!! Colleges grind to a halt as police and BATFE are overwhelmed by the scope of the terrorism!!!!!

The nation realizes what a bunch of pu$$ys we have become...Wait a minute. They're not that bright anymore. Nevermind...

:barf:
Seriously!!! I understand the need to be cautious but come on. The author is using the anti's logic to sensationalize a very minor incident. For a university so close to Chicago it is amazing that this is the first safety bulletin.

"Some students were confused by the sight of dogs"

Yes, dogs are a very confusing thing to see. These are college students right? Yet still confused by the sight of dogs? The COW says MOOOOO, the CAT says MEOOW, the sheep say.......assault handgun!
