.45 Colt and VV-3N37 250 grain RNFP

Looking for load data for .45 colt and VV-3N37 for a 250 RNFP (Cast lead, MO bullet)

I do not wish to exceed SAMMI specs of 14k, although this will be shot in a New Model Blackwalk.

I did find the Handloader Magazine Article that had

285 RCBS 45-270-SAA cast and using 11 grains of VV-3N37 for ~1k FPS and ~14kPSI

But this is a considerably different bullet.

I am not sure that 3N37 is well suited to that application. I looked at the Vihtavuori PDFs and I would have to interpolate some load data, as they do not show any loads with 3N37 and only jacketed with N340 & N350.

Do you have a faster powder? N320 for instance.

My Powder options

Well,

I have VV tinstar, Clays International, and Trailboss

and 5 lbs of VV 37 that I would really like to find a use for in the Colt.

I figured if someone figured out a ~1k FPS for a 250 grain bullet at <=15kpsi

I would be in 7th heaven.


On the way from PV I have Uniq and Bullseye and VV N105
