Let's see if someone has had this problem.

I have some .45 T/C 225g Lead bullets, I have been shooting a 200g SWC without any problems. I have been seating them at 1.250 and are shooting great. I loaded a few of the 225g T/C at 1.230 and some at 1.250. My problem was at the first rack I could not get the round to rack all the way in, and also could not get it to eject the round that would not seat in the barrel. The Range Master got the weapon to seat the round and it fired and ejected fine. We reloaded the magazine and it racked the first round and hung up on the third round just like the first time. After some pushing and shoving we got it to seat and the round fired. Loaded again and had it hang on the first round again. Using the 1.250 rounds.

I know this sounds strange, but I am having no problems with the 200g SWC and or the 230G RN plated. Has this happened to anyone, or does someone know what I am doing wrong. Or could it be my gun just don't like theses bullets.

I am shooting a Kimber TLE/RL almost 3000 rounds and having my first problems.

Thanks RC

Sounds like some of the bullets are a little oversize or some cases are thicker, plus your gun may have a close spec chamber making those rounds tight.

Tried the rounds in a case gauge? or another gun.

Your problem is the T/C bullet is full diameter all the way to where the T/C breaks into the point.

You are seating too long and the full diameter shank of the T/C bullet is running into the rifling leade.

Take the barrel out of your gun and use it as a case guage at the reloading bench.
You have to seat T/C bullets short enough they will drop freely into the chamber.

Took out barrel, and used as said, worked like a charm. Only thing is I had to seat them at 1.175 for them to work. I have no load data on this 225g bullet, so I went with the 230g lead and backed it off a disc size. I made 14 rounds and had no problems shooting them. Loaded with titegroup with 4.4g.

Thanks for all the help. any powder loads would be good also.

Thanks RC

Thanks for the link, It was a big help. I got the rounds to 1.200" and still need to shot them, I did cycle them through the weapon and all went well.
