I went back and looked at several threads here for the .450 Mongo and several are locked for new posting, so here's a new thread. I'm not going to rehash the whole subject, basically using longer brass in .45 Colt/.410 chambered guns to get the bullet closer to the rifling than standard .45 Colt rounds to, in theory, improve accuracy. The main issue is you can't fit a .452 bullet in a .444 marlin case and have it fit in the .410 portion of the chamber. Folks discussed using a heeled bullet design. Well, I believe I have found a mold that is in stock for $40 that may just do the trick.

The mold is available on Lee Precision's clearance site https://leeprecision.com/457-224-dc-mold.html
I believe it's a production over-run of making them for Eras Gone Bullets. Their website shows the mold sold out, but from the pictures it's clearly Lee that made their mold: https://www.erasgonebullets.com/store/product/-44-english-kerr-

They have a video on YouTube about this bullet and it gives the bullet dimensions (.457" at the base of the ogive, .435" top band, .430" bottom band):

I believe if you run this through a .452" sizing die, it will probably be a good candidate for loading "heel style" in the top of the .444 Marlin case. I ordered a mold just to give it a try, I'll have to go back through all the threads to try and SWAG a powder charge that won't blow up my gun. At least if I stick a bullet in my Super Comanche while working up a load, pushing the bullet out won't be impossible.
