I recently changed the recoil spring on a S&W 4506-1. (.45 ACP)
The replacement spring came directly from Wolffe and was marked 14 pound standard. It was packaged with a firing pin spring, and listed as the correct replacement spring for several S&W pistols.
The original spring installed in the piece by S&W was at least an inch and a half longer than the Wolffe "standard" part.
Has the metalurgy changed or was I sent a wadcutter or other spring in error?
Any help is appreciated.
