My Colt New Service was originally chambered in .455 Eley but was rechambered to .45 LC. The .455 had a .454 bullet. I've been using .452 for the .45 LC, in another gun.

I would like to hear what others are using in this situation, and/or suggestions.

Figure out the chamber throat size, and that is the size lead bullet you need to use.

Bore size is irrelevant if the bullet doesn't fit the chamber throats.

Without seeing your gun?
I'd be looking for .454" bullets.

I had one of those. Shoot the biggest diameter bullet you can find, I found 454 Commercial cast and they worked well. Lead bullets 0.452” in diameter leaded horribly in the barrel.

RC, you were right. I bought some Hornady 255gr cast .454 bullets and they go through the chamber with just the smallest tap.
