I use 230gr. Golden Sabers in my Govt. model. I like these due to their low flash and reliable feeding.

I'm considering using these for my 4.25" barreled Colt CCO also. Should I be looking for a lighter/faster round for it instead? I'm concerned that the shorter barrel will inhibit expansion performance with the 230gr. bullets.

I'd like to stay away from +P, it's got an aluminum frame.

I use .230's in mine 3.5 inchers..

Ball for practice and one of the good JHP's for defense. Right now that is Winchester but I have used Federal, Remington and others.
There are some that prefer the lighter projectiles for inreased velocity/flatter trajectory....I believe Ayood did an article on it sometime ago. But I like simplicity.....I get to practise with ammo that hits to the same POI as my carry amm. If it opens up..Fine. If not, it is still a 230 grain .45 caliber slug!
But there will be other opinions!
