I'm seriously considering a G38 that CDNN appears to be offering NIB for $399.
The Glock 38 is chambered in .45GAP and looks to be the same size as the G19 (which I have plenty of experience with).

My first question is with the grip size of the G38. Is it the same as a G19 or is it perhaps smaller? I see the magazine capacity for the G38 is 8 rounds, which tells me it's likely a single stack magazine. I also understand the OAL of the .45GAP round is typically shorter than the 9mm.

I also have GOBS of .45acp reloading components as I'm a 1911 guy and love the .45acp. If I do purchase the G38, I would certainly purchase the brass and LEE dies to reload for this cartridge. I'm curious if the large pistol primers and 200-230gr .451 bullets can be used for reloading the .45GAP or if it instead uses small pistol primers or lighter bullets. Not that I haven't any small pistol primers, but the ratio of WLP to WSP I have is about four to one. Likewise, most of the bullets I have in the caliber are either 230gr Rainier HPs or Winchester 230gr FMJs.

I do have quite a few 200gr Magnus SWC and MasterBlaster 200gr RNPF, though I presume the G38 features a polygonal barrel. If so, I'll likely stick to the plated/jacketed slugs for range time.

Thanks in advance for any help you may offer!

Glock 38

I have a Glock 37, and find it very accurate and reliable. I would highly reccomend the G 38. I also have a XD 45 Gap tactical . I like the Gap. I reload also and find that caliber as inheritly accurate as the 45 ACP. I have carried and used the 1911 for the past 56 years and presently have 3 high end 1911"s, I find that most of the folks that bad mouth the GAP, has never shot or owned one. The $399.00 price is too good to pass up. Considered getting one myself.

.45 GAP can use the same bullets as .45 ACP, but they use the small primers.

Not sure if you could use ACP dies to load GAP, but it would make sense that you could....thinking about .38/.357
