45acp Cartridge Overall Length?

I loaded .45 230 gr lead RN to an OAL of 1250 for over 40 years for my 1911's. Six months ago I purchased a kahr PM45 for a vest pocket BUG and found it would lock the slide out of battery and required a tap at the muzzle to free it. I started reducing the OAL until I reached a nominal lenth of 1235 and it runs fine. I reduced it 1220 started to having problems again so I stayed at 1235. The 1911's run the 1235's as well or better than the 1250's.
