45LC brass (cheap)

I've seen 45 LC brass at Cabelas marked between $11 and $14 for 100. Gander Mountain wanted 18.99 for the same thing.

I guess Cowboy Action Shooting drove the prices up... Around here it's $24 for 50 rounds, if you can find a store that carries it.

How much are you looking for? Plinking brass, new brass, once fired?

Midway gets most of my business. I make an online order, two or three days it's on my door step! Been using them for 20 years or so, great service, good prices on stuff and lots of deals on bulk bullets, brass, and the like. They have surplus service caliber brass really cheap.

Midway is the way to go. they have more calibers from more manufacturers than any place i have checked. plus, there are the reviews by users. you may save a few cents somewhere else, but, Midway's service is the best.

One of the best kept secrets for the finest quality brass is Scharch, Inc. You can find them at www.scharch.com Then just click on "on-line catalog" and then Top Brass. All orders over $70.00 includes shipping. They have brand new .45 Colt brass for $16.99 a hundred, $69.99 for five hundred or $116.00 per thousand.

Dan Scharch takes real pride in his brass and you'll find one of the best quality flash holes and primer pockets in the industry. I've bought a bunch of brass from him and have never had a complaint. He also prides himself in holding really close tolerences on the length of the cases. He's a machinest by trade, and just likes to make good quality stuff. They're also nice people to deal with.

Hope this helps.

Fred

I bought 100 "brass" once from Cabelas in person at the Penna. store and it was 20 pieces short. I never realised it until weeks later and then I had no sales receipt. I got zilch from them. Count your brass on the spot and make sure you keep your receipt. Quantrill

I've ordered from both scharch and midway. Great service from both.
Every 100 count bag of midway brass that I've bothered to count has had 101 or 102 in it.

qualchmal - went there. good place. ordered some of three kinds. i have no prob with once fired in brass, not nickle. i size, deprime and toss it in the vibrator. then as i put it into the loader, i look it over good. anything funky and it goes in the junk brass can. it is cheap enough, i don't mind the loss. thank you for the site info.

reloaderfred, gotta get me some of that precision brass too. did not order this time, but it is in my favorites. after ordering a bunch of once fired, i flat got some brass. enough to brag about, prolly like many other loaders on here. ty to you too

Try HQ Brass

Try HQ Brass. If they are out they will work with you when it's available. Not sure now but was @ $7/100. Good folks to work with.

Yep. Esp with low pressure cartridges like .45ACP and .38SPL. I try to be a bit more careful with 9mm and .357MAG. Who am I kidding? I load 'em all low... :p

The best supplier I can think of is Starline. It's not cheap, but the prices are competative. I just got 500 cases and measured all for length. 387 cases met a .005" parameter. I always measure cases to insure a good crimp. Try it sometime. But before you do, get ready for a crude awaking.

Thats an old posting from '06. +1 for starline. Just picked up 100 rnds for 19.99 at cabelas in maine. Usually 23.99. I consider any thing under $25 fair for 100 rnds. just my 2 cents anyway.

i use starline direct from the factory i do have some top brass just as good if not better the win and rem brass only lasts a few loads w/heavy loads out of my model 94 ae
