Just buy the stuff at the grocery store, I think the last one I bought was Quaker cornmeal. It's not the masa flour that you would use for making tortillas, it's a little more course.

Super Walmart didn't have Quaker cornmeal here so I bought Dixie Lily medium stone ground corn meal. Well, I'm not sure what fine ground corn meal would look like because this medium ground stuff has the consistency of flour to make bread. :banghead: There's even recipes on the back for corn meal muffins, corn bread sticks, and hush puppies. I think the only smoke-n-boom I'll be getting out of this stuff is when I burn the muffins I'll apparently be making with this stuff followed by the boom of the trash lid slamming down.

Gimme an "E" for effort........

We use cream of wheat in the C&B's. Just be carefull with the 44 navies. They use the .36 rammer and you can get chainfires. Also, we put a drop of veggie oil or gun oil over the Cream of Wheat. It swells it up and we can keep them in our holsters, jumping around and not worry about it coming unpacked.

That's the beauty of the cornmeal for blanks, it compresses extremely well and stays put.

ClemBert, try the China-Mart cornmeal that you bought, it might surprise you. If it doesn't work you can always add a little vegie oil and water and make tortillas.

I'm not trying to be a fun sucker but I would like to point out the fire dangers related to some of these BP noise makers. I live in a state that is burning at an alarming rate and we are getting serious fires from literally any source and the authorities are getting serious about criminal arson charges.
A lightning caused fire nearby is threatening a small town as we speak and if it blows up like yesterday with the prevailing wind it will probably go up.
If you all are living in an area with plenty of rain and high humidity party on and enjoy but if you are in a tinder box please skip the pyrotechnics this year.
