Yeah, I 'heard' that he would be pushing for the "allowance of the importation of collectible historic firearms", so I'm hoping for some more cheap 5.45 surplus if it can possibly get caught up in that party.

I guess the first question would be "is the 5.45 ban based on an executive order"? If so, it would be within the President's purview and easy to reverse.

What is 5.45? Is there a surplus of it? If so, why is it banned, and from what?

I think most or all of it is corrosive anyway... not that it should be blocked from import, but it isn't really that big of a loss either.

5.45x39mm surplus Russian rifle ammo, for the AK74 and similar rifles. Banned from import when a pistol version came out.
