Although it will be a future purchase, I have at least one or two in line before, I am considering a 5.56mm purchase. Something that takes AR mags (i have plenty.) And while I am very comfortable with the M-4/M-16's and their variants, I have also taken a liking to the new Sig 556 and the FS2000 (no P90's though, it just didn't fit me.) These 3 firearms all fit the bill for my purposes, SD and primarily plinking. Do the Sig or FN hold any real advantages over the AR's? Are they as good on accuracy, eg. hitting a man sized tgt at 300 yrds. They will retain iron sights, or maybe an EO Tech, if that helps. Just trying to make an informed decision.

It's hard to beat a properly built AR. I don't like bullpups so I don't care for the FS2000. I handled a Sig 556 at the funstore the other day and it seemed extremely muzzle heavy for me.

Since your purchase will be in the future I would consider an FN SCAR-L or a Magpul Masada. These two are the only reason I would consider a non-AR purchase.

You could consider something like an SU-16, it will perform better than your iron sights can allow. It utilizes a sort of an AR/AK action. I have heard nothing but good things about them.

I have an FS2000 with an EOTech resting on top - no regrets. Really fun to shoot this combination.

The trigger is a sponge, but you get used to it.

be safe, BSR
