5.56 in a 50 caliber can

How many loose 5.56 rounds can fit into a 50 cal. ammo can? i am looking at doing a large bulk buy and am trying to figure out my storage situation.

I was kidding, about 900 if they are stacked in there nice & neat.

I got 5 stacks of 6 (30 round cardboard boxes for stripper clip) and 2 30 round mags. Gives 120 more than standard can with bandoliers. Lay the cardboard boxes on the "fat side".

i usually put 800 in, but there is some room left

I reload bandioleers and restack them in with 7 bandioleers per can for a total of 840 rounds per can.
