I'm in the market for some bulk 5.56 ammo and as I was shopping I found a good deal on some .223 62 grain Fiocci ammo per 1000. I generally only shoot 62 grain 5.56 but the prices just seem incredibly high right now for the 5.56 so I am considering the .223 since it is a 62 grain round. What are your opinions on this ammo? What kind of differences can I expect with this round as opposed to a 5.56 round? The purpose for the round will be occasional plunking but more primarily for stockpiling in case I need to protect myself and my loved ones in the future. Thanks for the feedback.

No one you shoot will be able to tell the difference between 5.56 and .223
