Maybe I'm on dope, but I was just out shooting my single six and the brain light came on. It said if they make 22 revolvers why cant they make a 5.7x28.Do you guys think an eight or nine shot blackhawk would be cool or just dumb?

By the time you spent the money, you could buy a .22 Hornet BFR or maybe locate a .22 Hornet Taurus.

Bottle necked cartridges just haven't worked out that well in revolvers due to case setback locking up the cylinder.

Case head diameter of the FN 5.7 is .311 inches, so at best you're looking at 7 cartridges in a blackhawk.

For comparison purposes, the base diameter (not counting the rim, the actual base of the case) of a 357 magnum is .379 inches.

thanks Walkalong, I had not thought of that. I guess I will just have to build another 5.7 AR,the last one was tree rat genocide.

This.

The Hornet does OK because it is relatively low pressure and has a very subtle neck.

Perhaps a modernization of the Nagant revolver could mitigate this problem, though?

Charter makes a rimless revolver. Their system couod be adapted for 5.7. It would also solve the setback problem. I have wanted a .223 since they launched them (just like in fallout:D).

FWIW, a Blackhawk has an ejector rod. Ejecting brass will not be an issue so long as the brass isn't physically stuck.
