I believe that 5-gallon bucket can contain approximately 3,800 - 4,000 empty .45 ACP cases. Is that accurate? A friend has a couple of buckets and I am seeking opinions on a fair price. These are range-pick, 99%+ brass with a few nickle-plated. No steel cases.

Thanks for any input. Regards, Bill

thanks rc

I missed the earlier post from yesterday. I appreciate the link.

Love range pick-up.:D Use that almost exclusively. Just be aware of the small primer 45acp brass. :cuss: That stuff is the spawn of the Devil for us reloaders.

Small primer .45ACP brass is still .45ACP brass.

I will save all of you from the evil SP .45s. Just PM me if you have some and I'll let you mail them to me, no charge.

Some guys will load the small primer stuff, I usually just toss it in the recycle brass, but if I had a hard time getting 45 acp brass I would load them. I think 1000 45 acp was like 12 lbs. I sold 45 brass last year on here and I got about 50 dollars per 1k. I was also selling all winchester brass that was all lpp. I dont think I would pay that much for mixed range brass. I would think you'd be around 35-45 dollars.

Yep I would take a 1000 of those range pick ups for $35 and stick them under the bench for a rainy day.
Hmmm I guess I already have a bunch under there... No matter shoot me a pm if you do sell them. Cant hurt to have more than you would ever use.:D

I have several thousand fired .45 acps boxed up. If you want to come over and go through them, you're welcome to. There's typically a few / thousand. :)

I load nothing but small primer .45 ACP. I love the stuff, allows me to stock only one size of pistol primer.

Yeah, I know; sorting them can be a pain. But you examine every case anyway, right? It just takes a second to look at the head and see which size primer it has.

I'd say $50-$60/1k is fair. If you're looking to have a bulk purchaser, you'll probably have to sell at a bulk discount.

Good luck!
