(If this is in the wrong place please move, thanks)

I need some help. I’m trying to find any reference to ballistic coefficients for the various.50 BMG rounds. I’m not real sure of what the correct designations are for the rounds. They came out of SG catalog (before their ammo prices went up). I would also love to know the grain weights if those are handy as well.

Anyways, the four in questions are:

The “standard mil fmj” which I think may have the M177 designation.

The “blue tip” incendiary.

The “silver tip” API

The “red tip” tracer.

The “yellow/red” 826g spotter

If anyone knows off hand or could point me in the right direction I would greatly appreciate it. I haven’t posted hear much, but this site has been invaluable to me over the years. Many thanks to all, including the moderators that do such a wonderful job of keeping it “on the high road”.

Time to put the tinfoil back on. :)

Chris

P.S. If you haven’t visited www.infowars.com your missing out on good stuff. (always look at the reference for the articles though.) Sorry but had to beat the drum a bit, so to speak. :)

Here's a link to an earlier thread about .50 ammo, I posted a pic and the designation for each round. http://www.thehighroad.org/showthread.php?t=87838

The BC for the standard stuff like ball, AP, APIT... is about .62 and the match stuff runs right about 1.0.

Here's some sites for good reading.

Thanks 50 shooter.

Thanks for the information. I am attempting to work out some ballistic cards. Now all I need to do is grab the chrono and head to the range.

Thanks
