Hi,
I just got some sticker shock when I found out that a 50 bmg cleaning rod costs $50 (steel) to $60 (carbon fiber). After buying the rifle, I have no money for the cleaning rod. Hey, how's about using a bamboo stick from my local hardware store? Bamboo is "carbon fiber", so it's O.K. to use it as a cheap $2 cleaning rod. What do you think. Is this O.K. ??
Thanks,
Drjoker.
P.S. I have a shotgun cleaning rod, but it is not long enough. 50 bmg rifles typically have a 36 inch or longer barrel. 50 bmg rifles are often 58-60 inches long. That's a lot bigger than any shotgun I've ever handled....
