so, after reading the instructions in my box of 50 Gr. Pyrodex pellets it tells my why the 275 grain Maxi hunter bullets have a hard time staying in a 3' square at 100 yards! You need a fiber wad over the pellets under the full caliber bullet! Duhhhhhh! I went to Midway this morning and they are happy to sell me 1000 wads for 17.99. It will be a LONG TIME before I need 1000 of them. Anysources for say 100 wads? I just want to test the bullets against the sabots. I also noticed the "crud ring" when trying my different pyrodex loose vs. pellet groups (groups is VERY generous!) and guess what: you are not supposed to use standard 209 shot gun primers! Got some ML primers yesterday, but couldn't find .50 wads. So, you experts can help, and offer any suggestions that might get me along to a accurate usable deer loading. .50 CVA Wolf with 3 x 9 on top. Bill

Try substituting Wool Wads made from hard wool felt.
They're a little more flexible but work like a gas check just the same.
They're sold in packs of 100 either dry or lubed.

bummer! $5.90 for 100 luber at MidSouth, $7.78 UPS shipping and $3.00 because I wouldn't spend $20.00! No US postal service available for a few ounces of wool. No thank you! I will look around some more.

:):)Your second recommendation led to a site on E-Bay that had the above for $8.00 prepaid delivery. Thanks for the help. Bill
