.50 Serbu , scope recommendation?

The Millet scope that came with my Serbu I bought lasted 2 rounds and it's blurry now. I assume the glass came lose. Can you guys who shoot .50's please tell me what scope you have and what rings you would go with. My rings are quite tight, but it is very obvious that the scope slid at least 1" in the rings. What model NightForce would you guys use if you planned to shoot 600-1000 yards?

I use a nightforce NXS 5.5-22x56mm and Leupold Mk-IV rings on my AR-50, been using this for 10+ years now and haven't had any problems. This scope also has 100 MOA which is more then enough to get you out to 1000 yards. If you need to go out further you can buy a base with MOA built into it.

What reticle are you using? Mil dot?

Have a couple of Nightforces on other rifles but run a Leupold Mark IV 8.5x25 LR/T M1 mil-dot in Badger Max 50 6 screw rings on my 50. The combination has been solid as a rock over the last 5 years.

Friend of mine has a Tasco Super Sniper on his Serbu. Been shooting it for 7 plus years, no problems. Great scope, awesome rifle.

I have the NP-1, I was going to swap it out for the NP-R2 but I kinda like the new NP-R1 or the Velocity 1000. Anyway you go you can't go wrong with a NF scope, what reticle you want is up to you. I just perfer one that not all cluttered up with crap I won't use.

RWMC, a friend had an SS on his Serbu and it lasted about 4-500 rounds before it died. The reticle turned into an X, kinda funny when you looked thru it. The SS scopes are a good starter but if you want a lifetime scope you'll need to upgrade to Leupold, NF, U.S. Optics, S&B...

I like the look of the tactical mil dot NF. It looks clean. Now, 50 or 56 ?
