Brass manufacturers are recommending "Standard Large Rifle Primers "in all new cases that are marked with a "R" after the "Mag" on head stamp to signify rifle pocket. If you have previously purchased 500 cases without "R" on head stamp and wish to modify, you can use a large rifle pocket uniformer to deepen primer pocket to accept large rifle primers by deepening pocket approximately .006". This will not affect integrity of case. Hope this tidbit maybe helpful to someone else as it was to me :D

That's really VERY old news. Actually, the newer cases don't have the R and are made for large rifle primers. In addition, you can seat large rifle primers in large pistol primer pockets and they'll work fine even without deepening the pockets.

500 Mag

I haven't been reloading for the 500 Mag very long & i thought it may help someone else out

With that large a case, and the quantity of powder involved. I use mag large rifle primers.
