I ordered this case prep kit & it is a very good set of tools .It has primer pocket uniformers large & small & large & small primer pocket reamers small medium & large case neck brushes also includes a deburring tool + the Lee case trimmer cutter & lock stud now i dont use the Lee trimmers i have the Lyman Universal Case Trimmer {ive used them in the past} . I had some 500 S&W Magnum brass that were for use with Large Pistol Primers & i used the SR kit ot deepen the Primer Pockets .06" so i can use large primers in stead. The hand tool is very strong & does a great job & a big plus that it doesn't run on battires it rechargable & comes with a charger .This kit will preform all of the case prep functions that you will ever need i give The Smartreloader Extreme Casr Prep Kit 5 stars check it out SANY0628.jpg I ordered this Kit for $37.99 at www.natchezss.com

Correct, but we have no choice in the matter when it comes to electronics, do we!

My computer is from a company in the U.S.A. tho.

As inexpensive as these products are from LEE, I wonder how much "cheaper" they can be made without compromising quality. As an example, I have a Lee Case trimmer that is still sharp after trimming cases for close to 30 years. It's made from a good "tool grade" steel. Wonder how long one of these will last.

Sorry Trapper500 but expect others to chime you post. It's unreasonable to expect that everyone will be quiet, even when they have questions as to source and quality.

Hi Trapper

I'm glad you posted your truthful experience with this product. I don't need one but I like reading about it.

I'm a little surprised about jcs' post after a conversation with him.

I agree with you about the replies to your post though. I hate to have to dig through all the trash talk to get to real experiences. Thanks for the good picture as well. I noticed on the box where it said it was made to work with Lee tools. It makes since why some of it looks like Lee. As far as knock off I don't see anything knock off.

The XT Multi-Purpose Locking Stud looks to be identical to the LEE locking stud. Course I do not have one to measure but it sure looks exactally like a LEE.

I believe in supporting U.S. manufacturers and labor as long as pricing is somewhat close whenever possible. But then others may do as they wish I suppose, and our labor problem goes further into the tank.

The locking stud is made to work with the Lee shell holder & the brushes. How else would it fit if it wasn't made the same size? That's not considered knock off it's improvement.

As for US jobs going in the tank: Please it is hard to find people that want to work at a good job. I've been through more then 20 jobs in the last 20 years. Some of them good ones. It is easier to find jobs then employes trust me I've done both.

Trapper 500,

Thanks for sharing. I just went to the Lee site and NO, it is not a knock off. The pic. posted above, shows, and names, the Lee cutter and holder. Not Lee knock offs, Lee products. Lee does not make a power case prep. tool. There has been a lot of posts floating around about SmartReloader stuff so some folks try and get the jump on everyone else with an automatic "Made in USA vs China" rant (and flames), and don't even read the post, as above...

Hey, as I stated in post #8 the knock-off is the locking stud.

How hard is that to comprehend?

I have no idea where you live or even the general area you're frome. But here in Northern Indiana there are hundreds if not thousands of folks in my county and the counties next that would love to be put to work with a daily job and decent wages and benifits. How do I know? I live here. The RV Capital of the world!

SR Extreme Case Prep Kit

iam just reviewing how this kit works & how it would be a asset to someone who may need a kit like this and as far as the knock off comments go Smartreloader sells LEE & RCBS on thierwebsite i think they all are in bed together to make more money but thats only my view on this thank you all for your replies to my review more to come when i can afford to buy something else HAPPY RELOADING & BE SAFE!!! now the usa site doesnt have Lee or RCBS i think its their main co page that i saw them

Its the lock stud, get it the LOCK STUD.

The Lock Stud is the knock-off, they copied LEEs Lock Stud!

I hope thats understood now, actually its fairly simple, LEEs lock stud got copied by smart reloader.

Actually no. The ult. rel. lock stud has a hole or indentation on the nose/front. That area on the lee lock stud is flat or solid. It's where the trimmer pilot hits to determine how much brass it will cut from the mouth. I don't see how this UR lock stud would work with the lee trimmer pilots. The pin would enter that hole, trim way too short, as much too short as that hole is deep.

I don't care what it costs, I already have all the lock studs I need for my lee trimmer. As for that power drill/screwdriver, I use my cordless drill.

Your right. Maybe they expect you to already have the other one for trimming.

Maybe the OP can check into this & let us know.

Like others I already have a screw gun & drill press. I still normally just set down & do 100 or so at a time by hand so I don't see me buying one. Someone needs it though. i know of one that has been sold to a happy customer.

OK, I'll give you that. However it only takes a 10% difference in a product to circumvent copyright laws. Its still a copy, made in china. Go ahead and support chinese products, my your workplace never outsource your position.

As low cost as Lee products are, it would be a lot better to respect their intellectual property rights and buy the real thing, IMO. What's a couple bucks to you? Not much. Support American industry.

Edit to add: I don't mean any disrespect to the OP.

this is getting silly.
how many of you have hex keys not made by Allen tool, torx not made by Proto, square drives not made by Robertson Tool, adjustable open ends not made by Cresent, ratchets not made by William tool?

What you say is true, however the point is purchasing U.S. made when the prices are somewhat comparable and easily available.

When an item costs $18/$20 dollars as in the case of a U.S. hammer versus $2.00 for the import is what is being brought up.

But buy as you wish. The apathy the population of this country is just simply amazing.
