I see that Nosler makes 55 grain bullets in 6mm. A .243 Winchester can hit the 4,000 feet per second mark with these bullets. That would be .22-250 or .220 Swift type ballistics.

Has anyone tried these projectiles? Were they accurate in your gun? Are they able to withstand the velocity, in other words, will they come apart in flight?

I just purchased 800+ of the Nosler 55gr sp, not the ballistic tips, they're labeled as Shots. I haven't had a chance to test them yet. I'm shooting a Savage w/a 1 in 9.5 twist, I hope I'm able to find a load that works cause I have a lot of them to shoot.

3945 fps
just smoked a yote last weekend at 300 plus yards..first shot a little behind, dropped him ,second shot in the boiler maker,,DRT

I've been using them for years. 55 grain ballistic tips over 53.0 grains of H380. Just over 4,000 fps out of a plain jane Remington 700 ADL. When I do my part, I can get moa groups out to 200 yards. I don't have a good enough scope or technique to test legitamately beyond that range. The ADL is a lot nicer to carry out into the middle of a section stalking coyotes than my varmint barreled .220 Swift, and the performance is nearly as good.

I couldn't get them to group in my Savage but the 70s did very well so I never spent much time trying to get them to shoot. After seeing the post above, I may have to try them again with some H4895 :)

I'd like to try these too. How much bullet can you keep in the neck? I'm shooting 70's right now and I thought they were plenty short. My encore seems to be kinda deep throated. That's sounds bad.
