586 with some new grips - Pau Ferro wood
I recently got some new grips from Kim Ahrends... these are Pau Ferro wood (aka Moradillo, Morado, Brazillian Rosewood - though they aren't technically a "true" rosewood). These are in smooth square butt configuration which I ordered unfinished and gave my usual Teak Oil hand rubbed finish. The standard finish Ahrends provides is a poly finish which has a shinier, deeper look. I happen to like the natural oil finish myself, which has a softer, flatter look. You can order them finished or unfinished, as you prefer, directly from Ahrends. I think these grips, in this wood have a really classy look and the muted brown tone is especially complimentary to stainless guns.
