6.5 Swede Mauser and loading manuals

Boys, I appreciate all of the information. I didn't mean to poke a hornet's nest with a stick when I started this thread. I assure you I load nothing that hasn't come out of a reloading manual specific to a military mauser. Sometimes I work up to the top of that listed load but never over. Most of my loads came from the Hornady #3 manual. The short barrel of my rifle drops the FPS closer to that of a Grendel rather than a Swede so I drop to a lighter weight bullet to bet better bullet upset at that speed.
Again thanks for all of the education.

Was skimming through a book I have called “Hatchers Notebook” written by the late ballistics and firearms expert Julian S Hatcher. There are some interesting tests documented as well as detailed records of shooting accidents resulting from poor metallurgy or operator errors. The one in the posted picture I found applicable to this post, although it is not a mauser but a Springfield. The plugged barrel exploded while the carbon steel receiver remained intact. The receiver was allegedly produced using the older inferior heat treatment which left the steel very hard, but brittle. Interesting anyway.
