I already have 2 nice Swedish Mausers. They are, however, a little heavy for the wife. I am thinking of ordering her a CZ550 in 6.5 X 55. I am assuming that my current loads for my current Swedes will be fine if not a little underpowered. Is this correct?

They will be safe but it remains to be seen if they will be accurate out of the CZ. They'll probably be fine, but as you know not every firearm shoots the same load with the same accuracy.
I'm sure she will love it.

They would be safe. However I noticed on my CZ 550 6.5x55 the chamber throat is slightly shorter than that on my Husky M38. So may want to check and see if the bullet is engaging the lands if you are using a fair amount of COL on the Swedish Mausers. I also keep the used brass separated between the different rifles using plastic bags because of differences in the chamber & headspace.

Runningman,

If you had to do it over would you have bought the CZ550 in a different caliber?

Your current loads should fire safely but like the others have said I am not sure they will be accurate. It took me a little while to find a load that would shoot accurately out of my rifle.

That being said I love my CZ 550 in 6.5x55. This past deer season was the first season to use my 6.5 and it is now my go to deer rifle. It is absolutely fantastic! I have since deer season is over have hopefully found a varmit load to use with it.

Good luck if you choose to purchase it.

Does the CZ 550 9.3x62 I bought a about a year after I got the CZ 6.5x55 count?:) Seriously if I had it to do over again I would have given the 270 Win more thought. I was looking for a lighter recoiling deer rifle other members of the family could also use when I bought the CZ 6.5x55. It fits my requirements and I have no plan to get rid of it.
