So looks like a lot of us are going to get a $600 stimulus package. As such, we must thus put that money back into the economy.

I'm not too huge on rifles so don't know many of my options, but is there anything worth buying for under $600? Preferably I'd enjoy something semi-automatic. Will be used for fun and target shooting, not hunting.

Thoughts?

you can get both an SKS and AK for a little less than that. Tack on an extra 150 bucks and you can grab an AR15. Think of that 600 bucks as a nice discount if you go for the AR

I won't be getting the $600 I don't believe (have a taxable income of $0 due to college costing more than I make, and my father claimed me as a dependent on last years taxes) but when I get my tax return (~$1500) I'll be getting a Noveske AR15 upper to put onto a LMT lower I bought a while back.

I have a lot of trouble thinking that money used on a one-time luxury item is going to stimulate the economy long-term. Probably just sour grapes though. Have you looked at CMMG's clearance ARs for $550?

New or Used Ruger 10/22 for tons of cheap .22 LR plinking. Then add a pistol caliber carbine, be that used Marlin 1894C, used Beretta CX4, or new Kel-Tec Sub 2000 which accepts the same mags as one of your existing pistols.

Thanks for all the input so far. I live in Califailia, which sucks for Ar15s, but I am considering one. Anyone know if the "fixed" mags can be "unfixed" if I move out of state?

Marlin 1894C sounds good, as I do want to get into CAS later on. I'll definitely be getting a Marlin Model 60, as I've been planning on that for 2 months now.

So many choices, so little money.

Most this money is going to be used to buy imported items and well end up over seas. I don't think it's a good plan, but I well spend mine on reloading and ammo.
