62 gr surplus pulled pullets

Does anyone know where I can get some of these? My Mini-14 doesn't like 55gr too much, would like to try a heavier bullet, and another Mini 580 series owner reccomended these. Any ideas? Thank you for all replies.

Whoops, I meant bullets, not pullets, a 62gr pullet would be a small bird indeed. I should slow down when typing...

My Mini 14 is a 3 to 4 MOA gun with all bullets. It doesn't like any of them, but it is reliable and fine for CQB. Definitely not a long range weapon.
 
Wideners has new MILSPEC 62gr SS109 and MILSPEC 62gr lead core. $42/500 and $39/500 respectively.

That said, it's still too expensive for my blasting ammo. I need to find some pulled bullets soon.:(
 
I hear you trueblue1776. What happened to $30 to $35 per K for new 55 Gr FMJ all day long. Long gone, that's what. :(
 
You can buy 62 grain pulled at RVO for $40 per 1,000 with no pull marks, $35 per 1,000 with pull marks and $65 per 1,000 new. It will take a couple of months but that seems to be the trend now.

Just because they have it listed doesn't mean they have it. Has anyone heard from them in a while?
 
I bought mine from RVO a few months ago. Here http://www.rvow.com/Default.htm is the link. As I said before they were slow. I called and left a message and she called me back that afertnoon to take my order. I never saw a package or money taken out of my account so I figured they lost my order. After two months they showed up at the front door. I heard the womans husband died and she is trying to keep the business going.

I just got off the phone with the lady at River Valley Ordnance. She was out at Knob Creek for the machine gun shoot and is trying to get caught up. The web page is not getting up-dated, as her husband used to do that. And for the most part they don't have a lot of the pulled bullets, but they still have great deals on new (he said waiting for his 5,000 to come).

If you go to Shotgun news, hard copy or shotgunnews.com, then under "reloading components" sometimes they list mil. surplus bullets... new, pulled, etc. Hi-tech ammo has them listed. On the web site is tracer bullets without tracer compound -???- As said, with military action going on, everything is "iffy." Hi-tech told me 7 to 10 days. That was a month ago. But it is a place to look. I suppose Gun List might have something similar, but got going with SSN long before there was a Gun List... luck.
 
I ordered M855 bullets from RVO about a month ago, and received them last week. When I talked to them, they were out of pull, so I bought brand new 62 grainers for $65/1000.
 
As an up-date.
I ordered the bullets on 10/17, my credit card was charged on 10/29 (more than what we talked about to boot), and as of today 12/05 I have not received anything.
My calls (an answering machine over the last 4 days) have not been returned.
I contacted the credit card company and put the charge into dispute.:banghead:
 
RVO has over $500.00 of my hard earned capital. I've caught her (Nikki)
twice by calling over 50 times to inquire about my order and even after talking to her she hasn't had the common decency to call back with the info requested. I did recieve part of my order of 1000 308 bullets and 2000 233 bullets here is a pic of the neat packing. I should wait till I get everything before complaining but this is getting to me.

donttell, RVO has magic metallic hamsters that poop out pulled bullets, they just dump the dirty cadges (bedding and all) into boxes and ship.
 
I loaded up some pulled 62 grainers a few years ago, with horrible results. I don't know what could have caused it, but I noticed about 1/3rd of the rounds "keyholing" (hitting sideways) at 200 yards on paper. This was out of a Rem700VS, SO, I tried them in a Mini, then a Colt 6724 AR, then a buddy tried a few in his Savage 116. The keyhole problem persisted. Anyone else had this problem with pulled bullets? I tossed the ones that hadn't been loaded and decided not to make a similar purchase.
 
I'm shooting pulled 62g in three ARs and a Galil without problem. Load is 25g of IMR4895. Accuracy isn't match quality but neither am I.
 
Mini-14's aren't known for accuracy with any bullet. However, the 1 in 9 rifling twist may like slightly heavier bullets better. Try a Hornady 60 grain V-Max or a Sierra 60 grain Varminter. You still won't get terrific accuracy though. The rifle just won't do it.
A pullet is a less than 1 year old chicken. Cluck!
