83753076-932D-4183-82DE-7B9D1694ECD1.jpeg midsouthshooters has some 62 hornady hpbt .224 bullets that I ordered 250 to try out

I want to use a ball powder so I can load them progressively

I tried H335 and TAC. I did not do a full workup, I reduced from a known safe load and tried out a few batches

24.5g of h335 a decent group at just over 1” out of a 16” AR. (6 shot group)

24.5g 25 and 25.5g ofntac were also tried.

25.5 showed no pressure signs, and was 1”

25g of tac was about 2”

24.5g of tac put 5 shots into a quarter, I threw the other one low

All shots at 100 yds with a crappy front rest and rear bag.

Best group attached

Work up at your own risk obviously, but the. 62g hpbt hornady bullets midsouth has show some real potential for accuracy

Darn good loads, as I see it. My 100 yard groups with 55gr Varmageddon's using 24 grains of IMR 4064 are good but not quite that tight.

That gun is a rock river arms, it is very accurate and i have never really “tried hard” and set up a good solid rest. In the right hands with sandbags fore and aft I imagine it is a consistent 3/4” gun,

out of curiosity, what is your twist rate and do you know what kind of velocities you're getting?
