66-5 Buy or not

I wouldn't hesitate to shoot 357s in my model 66, just not a full house diet of them. I reload for it and stay off the heavy stuff being mindful of the forcing cone.
I agree regarding the 66. My comment was in reference to the m.19 that was shown by the op.

Hey man, to be honest I’m not sure I’m going to shoot that 19 at all I’ve chased a 19-6 for a very long time (being the latest dash before frame design change and mim parts) and now that I found it I think I’m gonna let it rest… I will use the 66-5 for fun

I have fired many tens of thousands of .357 rounds through my 19-4. I recommend against "firewall" loads, and against much use of jacketed rounds. I cannot see any reason not to shoot midrange .357 rounds with cast bullets through such guns, though.

That is a really nice 19 that the OP found. As far as shooting the K-frames, 357 ammo is fine as long as you stay away from the 110 and 125 jacketed factory rounds. The forcing cone problem on early production guns was the result of many hundreds of high velocity 125gr JHP rounds being fired. The initial issue came from a police training facility. I handload most of my .357 ammo using 158 grain lead SWC mid-range loads and never worry about damage.
