I currently own a Beretta 686 Silver Perdiz and have enjoyed the gun for the past 10 years, but had decided to upgrade to the 682 E Gold Sporting. However, I recently held a Cynergy Euro Sporting and really liked the feel and now am torn between the two. I like the claim of reduced recoil with the Cynergy, but am not sure if this is marketing hype or real. Can you really feel reduced recoil with a Cynergy vs the 682? Would appreciate any advice you might have comparing the two guns.

If the Cynergy reduces recoil it's because the gun is generally heavier than a Beretta in comparable barrel lengths. I've shot various Cynergys and didn't notice they dampened recoil more than any other gun.

The Cynergy has been around for a while and seems to have proved itself on the durability front. There aren't stories of them falling apart at 50 thousand rounds.

But if the 686 worked for you then I think the Beretta is a better choice. That action design is tried and proven, replacement parts aren't usually a problem and the 682 will probably have a fit and feel closer to what you are used to.
