Who makes a leather holster for a 2 1/2" 686 that is NOT canted, but instead holds the gun straight up. I would also be interested in makes of crossdraw holsters for it. Thanks, AC

Try a pancake style, it will usually have three slots and let you choose vertical or canted. Simply rugged can make you one affordably if you can't find an off the shelf one.

Thanks guys. I'll check those links. I don't really want one of the "3 slot" variety, but I guess it wood do.

Any more suggestions?

I had looked at that on the web page, but like you say, it looks canted. Now I know better. Thanks

Milt Sparks

Milt SParks makes two holsters for revolvers with barrel llengths
up to 7.5 inches.

$200 AW - designed by Hank SLoan of the FBI, with a shroud for shielding
the hammer from getting caughtt by an overgarmet. Standard cant is
muzzle to the rear aka "FBI" Cant but a straight drop is
also available. Unlined is made of veg. tanned 12 oz leather. LIned is
two 6.5-7 oz leather with the rough sides glued together for a
smooth interior. Avail in natural, cordovan, or black

#HSR - Hackathorn Special standard catn is muzzle forward for a
cross draw, it is like the 200 AW but no hammer shroud. Also available
with FBI Cant.

Both the #200 AW & #HSR has a screw adjustable tension welt to
retain the revolver, it can be adjusted as the holster ages.

That said, I have the #200 AW Lined w/basket weave in Cordovan &
the FBI cant - It's not that radical of a muzzle to the rear and eassssssso
clear leather on the draw. I got it for a 1.5" belt as I also got a
Milt SParks 1.5" belt w/Basketweave in Cordovan Great combo for
this range/fild rig and my 686P 4" Bbl.

I'm thinking about getting a #HSR for my MOdel 60 3" Bbl. with
the Cross draw cant.
