I have a S&W 686 with a 6 inch barrel that I use as my HD gun for about 25 years. The action has gotten sweeter over time and was wondering if any one here carries conceal this particular revolver. I normaly carry conceal a 1911, but was thinking of using my revolver also. The real question I have is if you carry conceal a 686 with a 6" barrel what holster are you using? Thanks for reading this.

Good [leather] shoulder harness rigs from a quality leather maker
such as Bianchi, Safariland, Kirkpatrick, Galco, or Don Hume seem to
work well with these 6" barreled firearms. One that quickly comes too
mind is the "Miami Classic"; but I don't know if its made for revolvers~?
Stay away from Kydex, Nylon, etc; as they don't secure the weapon
enough for my satisfaction~! ;) :scrutiny: :D

That 6 inch barrel is awfully long. A shoulder holster would be the best way to go. I would look at the vertical shoulder holster from Galco. They make one specifically for the 6inch 686. The galco website says it's $190. If you shop around on the internet, you should find one for about $135ish. I would go with the vertical shoulder holster over the horizontal shoulder holster, because that way you have the extra length in line with your torso instead of sticking out the back where it can be more easily discovered.
