Or another option while they are available is the Ruger GP100 3" Wiley Clapp they are sweet, balanced and fun to shoot, IMO

Ruger makes some very fine firearms and GP100 is no exception.

I just like the looks of the S&W 686 better.

With the choice, go with what is more pleasing to the eye.

Yep, thost cast Rugers are a lot weaker than those forged Smiths.
That totally explains why nobody makes "Smith only" loads.

Just get yourself a Colt Python. J/K I know it's out of most's peoples budgets (including mine)

And let's not forget that Ruger only ammunition never gets stuck in chambers after being fired, plus those castings are so good that Ruger sells a lot of 357mag 7/8 shot models.

Of the 200 participants at the International Revolver Championship a few years back, 199 shot Smiths and 1 shot a Ruger, and we haven't started talking about triggers and split times.
