Recipies anyone?

Have a 26 inch 1 in 8 twist... after finally changing the barrel. Which is also why I have been somewhat quiet over here....

Spent the last two months researching and reading every possible scrap of information on a Savage barrel switch, and pestering literally tens of kind paitent people... the switch took under 30 minutes. (And no I did not use Styrofoam ;) )

I know 6mm BR has a ton of loads... but most are for powders and bullets I do not have. Looking of VV data (yes I have the manual, but am looking for something proven) or Tubal powder for 90 and 105 grain bulllets. (Sierra, Lapua, berger).

I do have one pound of Varget (More expensive than gold and a lot more valuable since it isnt available), and am going to use 30 grains under a 90 grain lapua to sight the rifle in. (10 rounds only).

This barrel seems to have no throat...
At an COAL of 2.31 the 105 scenar is jammed about .015 into the lands... and the 90 Scenar is into the lands at 2.30...
Which I think might be a royal PITA given the length of the bullets...

The 6mm BR was commercially loaded by Remington in 1988. In 1996, Norma released the 6mm BR Norma. Externally the cartridges are identical, but the Norma variation corrects a chamber deficiency in the round's original SAAMI specification. The original throat depth was not deep enough to accommodate modern VLD bullets, which are heavier and longer than the heaviest 6mm bullets available in 1978.

This barrel seems to have no throat...

It's possible the reamer used for your new barrel was a version of the Remington 6MM BR instead of the Norma BR with a longer throat. That's all that I can think of for now.

Well the barrel is stamped 6 NBR and is that. Not sure about the reamer, will call the barrel seller on Monday and find out what is going on... since I dont think LW will make that mistake. It is a LW prefit for Savage... so I would be very surprised if that was the case.
