Sorry if this question was asked recently, but my search function isn't working right now.

I just ordered a yugo SKS from my local store, that should be in monday and I need feed it soon.

I'm a club member at Sportsmans guide, so I can get Wolf FMJ, HP, SP for $161 for 1000 rds and no shipping charges...Is there anyone else that can beat that?

Perhaps, but Silver Bear does not shoot as well as Barnual in any of the rifles I've tried it in, but it is better than plain old black box Wolf.

Of course, these days beggars can't be choosers. You buy what you can get at a decent price and be happy you got it.

Make darn sure the ammo you order from SG is in stock or you may well be in for a long wait - posted shipping dates can be wildly optimistic.

At DMK, well Silver Bear used to use a different maker for its ammunition, but recently they swithced to JSB Barnaul, and the x54r version worked very well in my rifles.

Well I just went to the online store, and I was getting ready to check out, but I had 15 or so dollars in shipping charges...Is anyone else a club member here? Whenever I signed up, I was pretty sure they told me club members get free shipping, is this right?

From what I can tell, it seems as though its only on your first order they give you free shipping.

Secondly, it seems as though they have sold out of the SB and have 1 Wolf 1000 round FMJ.

And that is in Canadian dollars as well? And why exactly can't Americans tap into the Canadian market? I know it has something to do with a US ban on Chinese weapon-related imports, but the ammo you linked to was Czech of origin. Do Chinese companies distribute it or something?

Either way, I get a 1000rd batch of Wolf 7.62x39 (HP or FMJ) for $100 from my special private connection. In fact, I traded an Xbox360 (worth $350) for 5000 rounds. So I just laugh to myself every time I hear people complain about recent prices, in person or over the internet.

I picked up a 1000 rounds of Golden tiger from JonhsVTgunshop.com for $165 and no shipping, they shipped fast, it seems to be a ittle more accurate than Wolf in the black box.

My SKS likes the Wolf 123-gr hollow point better than Wolf FMJ, Barnaul, or Silver Bear...suggest you buy a box of each, test them in your rifle at 100-yds, then lay in a batch of what it likes best...

Wolf FMJ is notoriously innacurate in 7.62x39, the HP is much better.

I don't know about the FMJ, but the HP is -excellent- ammunition; if nothing else, it's outstanding clean. I posted a little while ago that after 60 rounds through my SKS a couple weeks ago, the gun needed hardly any cleaning at all. Virtually no powder residue, grime, anything. Four patches and it was clean... just unreal. And it is accurate, to boot.
