7.62X39 for AK

All I could find @ Wal-Mart, is Winchester 122gr FMJ. They didn't have any Wolf ammo. Is this ok to "break in" a new WASR 10 with? 40 box is $24 and change, 20 box is $12 and change.

Haven't really had time to "shop" for any other ammo yet.

That's WAY too expensive. Shop more.

The average box of Wolf goes for about $4- $6.

Yes that is too high. Sounds like you got into the game late. I would look into buying ammo bulk (1000 rounds at a time) at a gun show or online. It won't be as cheap as the good old days but it will be much better than that.

yeah wolf and the other foreign made steel cased 7.62x39 works just fine in an AK, the brass cased ammo is WAY to expensive, they only thing about using the steel cased stuff is that they red stuff around the primer gets all over inside the receiver, however soaking it in some CLP for 10-20 minutes it will eventually come off, well worth the effort to avoid the extremely high cost of brass cased 7.62x39
