7.62x51 problem

I received some military 7.62x51 ammo in the battle packs. I don't

from what country. The ammo shoots fine but when I went to reload the empty brass I had a problem. The brass will not fully enter the resizing die.
Measuring from the case rim up about 3/8 of an inch of the case will not enter the die. The die is a small base RCBS .308 die. I am using Imperial sizing wax to lubricate the cases. The cases in question are labeled with year of manufacture and the lettering c1. Lake city military brass works with no problem I can't figure out why this brass won't enter the die. I can't believe it has expanded that much. Any ideas?:banghead:

Check if it's berdan primed. That could be the problem.

It's Berdan primed brass, and the decapping pin is hitting the inside of the web, stopping the case from going any further. If you force it, you'll break the decapping pin and probably bend the rod.

Re-sizing problem

That's why I use a resizing die with a removable decapping pin.
