7.62x54r - Best Loading Manual ?

Lee, Lyman, Sierra?

Who covers the 7.62x54r the best?? I have the newest Speer manual which has nothing on this round.

Any help greatly appreciated.

Lyman #49 has data for 5 bullets and 8 - 10 powders or more.

Hodgdon 2009 "magazine" manual has 7 bullets & numerous powders.

Hornady #6 has 33 bullet choices and too many powders for me to count right now.

I'd say it is pretty good!

this is weird. i've got two old reloading books [lyman47th and hornaday3rd] and both say completely different things for most of the bullet measurements. I know i need new books, but wow. also i agree with rcmodel.

my lee reloading book hasloads from 110 grain bullets to 220 grain bullets covers 3 pages

Just a related note.... You'll want to slug that barrel first before ordering bullets. Most Russian guns, especially the Mosins, slug out between .309 and .313 which effects the bullet you order.

You may find that the best accuracy is with the Sierra 180 gr Soft point in the 91/30.

That bullet may be too wide for an M39.
