Century currently has 7.62x54R Bulgarian real cheap. On paper this seems like pretty good ammo - brass case, copper jacket, lead core.

Anybody know how these shoot?

PS: hey Cosmoline - I took my first M39 to the range yesterday. It's all beat to heck, NINE repairs to the stock, and about 5% finish remaining.

And yet... no sticky bolt (with czech silvertip), and the target you see below is at 100 yards. I'm a LOUSY shot. Shots were fired in a kneeling supported postion. If the three russian nagants I sold last year shot anything like this they never would have been sold. this thing drills water jugs at 150 yards. my old m38 couldn't get a decent group at TWENTY FIVE yards. I'm talking 8" spread there. Same thing went for the 91/30s.

NOT A SINGLE ROUND WENT INTO THE WHITE.

The best part? I paid $179 shipped for this gun. It was a "gunsmith special" from AIM. The cracks in the stock look pretty stable, so I decided to shoot it after a good 3 hour cleaning inside and out. The bolt even matches the receiver.

The Czech stuff is good ammo. I plan to buy more, but that bulgarian is mighty tempting.

ps: A friend wants to sell me a can of Russian LPS. is that stuff any good? compared to the czech?
