I was at Dick's tonight and saw they had the 17 HMR CCI ammo for $7.99 a box. This is the regular price. It is good to see this stuff coming down in price. It was actually cheaper than the 22WMR Maxi Mag which was $8.49 a box.

well today the dick's here had 30% off of all ammo.

i would like to get myself a .17hmr of some sort, they seem like they could be fun

hmmmm. our ad just said 30% of entire stock of ammo. maybe it was the same way at the store just a misprint in the ad. i didn't get to go because i had to go dress shopping with the girlfriend ALL DAY LONG:what:

OK, I was pretty down on the .17 when it came out, simply from a long-term availability issue.

Acceptance has been a lot more rapid, and widespread, than I ever thought it would be, and consequently the price of the ammo is really starting to drop.

I may very well be inclined to get a revolver in this caliber if this keeps up...

I dropped by Sportsmans Warehouse the other day and they had Hornady, CCI and Remington on the shelf, plenty of it, all of it for about $8.50 a box.

It is a relief to see that the availability is up and the price is down. I bought my .17HMR a year ago this month and the ammo situation was a bit of a concern for a while.

It is not the kind of gun I plink with anyway. But it is a great small game hunting rifle.

I've been thinking the same exact thing.

Ruger has come out with a nice looking 6 1/2" bbl. Single Six for under $400 MSRP. Now I've read that S&W has a model with an 8 3/8" bbl. but it's nearly $700.00!

My problem is...what do I do with it after the newness has worn off and I'm tired of paying the price for 50 rds. of NON-reloadable ammo.

The Dick's around Baltimore usually advertise UMC.

This week they have 9mm for $5.99, and your choice of 38spl or .380 acp for $6.99 (which is a great price around here.....even beats Wal-mart)

Wal-Mart still has the better price on 9mm though with the WWB 9mm 100 pack for $10.97
