I have a browning BBR in 7mm rem mag. Love this gun! here is the question: I do not handload. What is the most accurate commercially available round? I have heard good things about Federal gold match, but it does not appear to be available in 7mm. I am interested in trying to hit things at 700 yards+ Any help is appreciated-thanks

Buy several that meet your needs/specifications. Then go shoot the rifle.

No two rifles are the same, and seldom will any two guns shoot the same load equally well.

Thats why there are so many choices.........................

Oh, I fully intend to try out a few flavors; that does'nt preclude me soliciting opinions, good and bad, on what knowledgeable shooters believe to be highly accurate factory rounds. (I want to winnow the field of contenders a little for my wallet's sake).

Hornady 154 Grain SST, followed closely by 162 grain BTSP.
Winchester is only average.
Remington is crap.
If I can't get Hornady, I'll use Federal Fusion. It's SUB MOA in my 7's.

You will never find the answer here. The answer is in the shooting. But have fun looking. Save your brass. Reload. The answer is there. you can tweak your loads to suit your needs. Factory loads can only guess.

The search is the fun. 700 yards is a long way. What are you shooting at?

Thanks all. I am hearing Hornaday and federal fusion. A good place to start! I would be shooting at paper till I get good, the a four-legged critter may be in the sights... Any other specific loads?

I"ve got a 7mm rem mag i've had for a couple of years and haven't used alot. I've shot three loads in it, from 150 grains to 160. I tried a plain jane box of remington 140 grain sp ammo thisyear and got 1/2 inch groups, better than the premium stuff i tried. Took a nice 8 point buck with it with one shot at 247 yards the other day. My gun loves that load.
