I've been shooting the 80 grain "power lockt" hp's out of my little model 600 and am pleased with the accuracy and planned on using it for coyotes this winter. Problem is I grabbed a box of the Remington 80 grain psp's by mistake today. I've got an Antelope tag to fill this fall and hadn't really thought of the 243, till now. Here's my question: Has anyone here used either of these specific loads on critters before? I was curious as to the frangibility of the hp as compared to the psp.

Both the PLHP and PSP are varmint class bullets and are both light jacketed, frangible bullets. I would not use them on game larger than coyote. You'll probably be better off using a heavier jacketed bullet for antelope. If you wanted to stick with Remington's, any of the "corelockt" bullets are good for the larger game. There are many good game bullets to choose from, just go to the different web sites for info. Perhaps a member here can give you a recommendation.

Thanks, I figured so, but not having seen either load perform I was curious. The PSP was about 5 bucks cheaper than I'm used to seing the HP's that's why I snatched it up. oops. I'll probably stick to the '06 for the medium stuff anyway.
