Has anyone here ever built an AR from the ground up using one of these so called 80% Lowers?

How difficult to drill the holes and Mill out the trigger control part?

Thanks in advance guys!!!

You basically just need a good large frame drill press, jigs taps and drills.

Since you can buy a new completely made reciever for under a $150 you have to be a fool to waste the time, you can't build one for what you can buy a finished one for.

Although I have yet to build them, I have Tactical Machining 80% AR-15 and AR-10 receivers and the jigs to finish them on my benchtop drill press. More expensive than buying finished? Absolutely! But worth it to me for the feeling of accomplishment, the knowlege learned along the way, the pride of having something I've helped build - and at least two guns that aren't on anyone's radar, although I pray that will never be a consideration.

so maybe i machined out a 0% forging that was $20 from DSA 10 years ago...and maybe it took a long time to mill it because i didn't have the right tooling to work in aluminum...but maybe it was fun anyway.
