800-x for Beginners 480 Ruger loads 325 grain?

800-x is viewed by some as the perfect mid range powder for 44 mag....does this carry over to the 480 ruger???

I'm looking to load the 480 with 325gr jacketed to 1000fps (target/practice loads) and 1250fps woods loads. From 2.5" Alaskan barrel. (I see this as a step up from the 44 mag which I would load a 240gr to 1250fps and you get the bigger hole)

Anyone worked this bullet/powder combo?

I figure

Trail Boss for the lightest loads (just plinking cans) but why bother, shoot a smaller gun...

Alliant 300-MP for wide open loads. (Published velocities are astounding, to me, they get into rifle ballistics territory out of this cartridge in a handgun)

800-x and Unique are close cousins, it doesn't seem as popular because it meters poorly but in my experience it burns cleaner. I'm surprised it's not listed for 480, from what I understand people like it for mid range 44 mag.

It works well in the 44 Magnum and the 357 SIG.... EXCEPT metering.... meters like cornflakes .... gives high velocity with lower pressures...
